Guidelines for Artisans
All artisans displaying work in ArtWorks must be a member of Mountain Regional Arts and Crafts Guild, Inc. and, complete an ArtWorks application
We want ArtWorks to be the place where customers look for that special gift for someone, or something unique for themselves or their home. If your work is for sale in stores, galleries, etc. in the area including Hiawassee, Hayesville, Murphy, Young Harris we ask that you not place the same items in ArtWorks during the same period of time, unless approved by the jurying committee.
If you do craft shows in the area, we ask that you not price items which are in ArtWorks at a lesser price.
We will do our best to protect our artisans work - no copied work will be allowed without written permission from artisan.
All copyright laws will also be followed.
Percentage of sales paid to ArtWorks: 20% - working artisan (2 days per month - 14 hours). 40% - non-working artisan.
The store will be open Monday - Saturday from 10:00 - 5:00.
All items placed in ArtWorks for sale will be juried by a committee using standards established for ArtWorks and a copy will be provided to you.
You will be provided with 2-part tags to be securely attached to all items placed in ArtWorks. The tag will include the identification number assigned to you by ArtWorks and whatever numbers you choose to identify the item. In addition, you may use one of your tags with your name or business name only and any special instructions concerning the item. No phone numbers or addresses will be allowed. The exceptions to this are food and soaps.
All items will be listed on an inventory sheet (provided by ArtWorks). This will be used to check in all items and you will be given a copy. Checks will be issued once a month, with a list of what was sold. Turn over time for items in store will be 6 months.
If your work needs any special display case or rack (such as a locked case for jewelry) will you provide it? Please indicate this in the description of your items.
A copy of all store policies will be provided to you with your copy of the standards used by the jurying committee.
Items must be submitted for jurying on Tuesday or Wednesday before Jurying on Thursday. Jurying is done on the Thursday after Guild Meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month) and 2 weeks later.
