Joan has compiled over 20 years of teaching experience in
basketweaving and various other arts and crafts,  including Gourd creations, Tole painting,  Netted Gem Necklaces and custom clothing design (painted).

Basket specialties include numerous aspects of weaving such as,
Appalachian, naturals, wood bases, antler baskets, Cherokee and
flat bottoms to name a few.

Hands on instructions are available in individual or group classes covering all
aspects of weaving through various stages of advancement.

Her work has been exhibited in private shows at
Lighthouse Gallery in Tequesta, Florida, and Town Center in Jupiter, Florida.

Formerly a member of the Southern Handcraft Society of the Palm Beaches.
Currently a member of of the Mountain Regional Arts & Craft Guild, Shooting Creek Basket Guild, Georgia Basketry Association, and North Carolina Basketmakers Association. She now teaches basketry at Wood Creations in Hayesville, North Carolina the John C Campbell Folk School, Brasstown North Carolina
as well as in her private studio.
